Camino day 9

Today was a bit of a goofy day. Lots of random events. We cooked breakfast and started hike, only 10 miles so should’ve been an easy day.

However there was a section too steep and jagged for Jacobs chair, making us do a detour through some really remote places. Having a run in with a farm dog we about had to fight off.

Back on the main route, the trail was gorgeous. Our coffee stop is always the best part of the morning, but there was literally no stop all the 10 miles to our destination.

So we reached Sarria by 11:30, and then had our coffee and a nice day. Chilled by a river. Had a final dinner with our favorite fellow pilgrim, Carl, who we’ve frequented since day one.

Our trip is about to change, as it’s about to be a lot more busy and touristy. Sarria is where most people start the pilgrimage to Santiago, as it’s 5 days away, and 100 kilometers away, which is a minimum for a certificate thing at the end. This is also where multiple other Camino routes join together.

Trip stats…

135 miles walked

300,000+ steps

Musicals sang along - Hamilton, Sound of Music, Newsies

50+ cafe con leches (lattes)
