Sept 15-17, Tuesday to Thursday

After Santiago we took a bus down into Portugal. We plan to walk 5 days to Porto, where our flights leave from. We will be walking in the Portuguese Central Camino de Santiago route, but backwards.

Arriving in Portugal we noticed a difference in architecture, language, and other things. The town we bused to, Ponte de Lima, was a beautiful town along a river.

We ended up staying here two days in a hotel, our first true break of the trip. The town was so lovely and our hotel was nice, $17/night each. Our friend and roomate, Gus, is joining us for the rest of our time here in Portugal. Poor Nicole stuck with 4 guys.

We started walking today, Thursday. Back to our pilgrim lifestyle. Our destination is the sea now, as Porto will be on the coast.

Walked along Roman roads, absolute beautiful countryside. Grape vineyards, corn fields, mountains, small towns, cafes.

Staying at a pilgrim hostel tonight, €5/each. Pizza delivered for dinner. Good day
